Ephesians and Titus

by Michael Paz

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men” (Titus 2:11)

This is the fulfillment of what Paul had said as recorded in Acts 28:28.

“Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it”

Paul’s letter to Titus is a scripture of salvation for all men, written after Acts 28:28 and is comparable to Paul’s letter to the Romans which was written before Acts 28:28.

In Titus 2:12,13 it is said that the grace of God brings salvation by:

“instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age”

This is the expansion of the doctrine in Ephesians 2:1-5, which was also written after Acts 28:28.
“.. Even when we were dead because of sins, has (God) made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” (Eph 2:5)

The basis of this salvation is Eph 1:7 “In whom (Christ) we have redemption through His blood the forgiveness of sins... “In Titus, we have “…our great God and Savior Jesus Chris, who gave Himself for us...” (Tit. 2:13,14).

Romans and Titus are to be contrasted because of dispensational differences prevailing before and after Acts 28:28 respectively.

While Romans itself was written for our learning, Titus was written for our hope;
(Titus 1:2, 2:13, 3:7)
